Menard Finishes 15th at Texas Motor Speedway

Paul Menard started the Quaker State/Menards Chevrolet from the fourth position at Texas Motor Speedway and brought home a top-15 finish after facing handling issues throughout the 500-mile race. In the early laps of the event, Menard slipped back several positions as he fought a tight-handling condition. The “Slugger” Labbe-led crew made a variety of chassis adjustments to the No. 27 machine on multiple four-tire pit stops in an attempt to remedy the handling condition.

Buescher Earns Sixth-Place Finish at Texas Motor Speedway

Hometown hero James Buescher didn’t go down without a fight when he returned to Texas Motor Speedway (TMS), the track where he first cut his teeth in racing. Starting in the sixth position for the WinStar World Casino 350, Buescher fell back just a couple positions in the early going, but after some stellar pit stops by his Rheem crew, Buescher gained valuable track position which kept them in contention.

For the second time this season, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) returns to James Buescher’s home track: Texas Motor Speedway (TMS). Buescher first got his start in racing on the grounds of TMS at the ripe old age of 12. Buescher has enjoyed much success at his home track, having won on all but one circuit at the TMS compound.

Kevin Harvick will pilot chassis No. 431 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable in the AAA Texas 500. Harvick drove this RCR-prepared machine to Victory Lane at Kansas Speedway and to a sixth-place result at Charlotte Motor Speedway in October. Since 2001, Harvick has made 21 Sprint Cup Series starts at Texas Motor Speedway.

Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 427 at Texas Motor Speedway. This No. 27 Chevrolet SS was previously run this season at Kansas Speedway, Michigan International Speedway and Pocono Raceway. It was also utilized in a two-day test session at Texas last week. Menard has 14 starts at Texas Motor Speedway. His best start of fourth and best finish of fifth came in 2011.

Starting from the 23rd position, Paul Menard and the No. 27 Turtle Wax/Menards team faced handling issues throughout the 263-mile event, earning a 23rd-place finish when the checkered flag flew at Martinsville Speedway on Sunday. In the early laps of the race, Menard fought a tight-handling condition causing him to fall a lap down to the leader on two separate occasions during the first 150 laps of the 500-lap affair.
