James Buescher and his Exide EDGE team head into Vegas coming off an eighth-place finish at Chicagoland Speedway two weeks ago. This was the team’s fifth top-10 finish in a row. Buescher has four previous starts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS) and has an average finish of 10.8. Buescher’s best result at LVMS came in 2010 when he finished in the third position.

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – Sylvania 300

Kevin Harvick and the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet team finished 20th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway Sunday afternoon after battling handling issues during in the SYLVANIA 300. The California native started the 300-lap affair from the eighth position and slipped back to 11th in the early laps when a tight condition through the center of the corners and loose-handling condition on exit developed on the red and white Chevrolet.

Starting from the seventh position, Paul Menard and the No. 27 SYLVANIA/Menards team faced handling issues throughout the 300-lap event, earning a 22nd-place finish when the checkered flag flew at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. After slipping back several positions in the early laps of the race, Menard was scored in 13th on lap 25 when he communicated to crew chief “Slugger”

Kevin Harvick will pilot chassis No. 433 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable in the SYLVANIA 300. This Chevrolet is new to the No. 29 team rotation and is scheduled to be on track for the first time this weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Since the 2001 season, Harvick has made 25 Sprint Cup Series starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 434 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. This No. 27 Chevrolet SS is a new addition to the Richard Childress Racing stable and will turn its first laps this weekend at the one-mile facility. Menard has 13 starts at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. His best start of seventh and best finish of 12th both came in 2012.

Kevin Harvick and the No. 29 Budweiser Designated Driver team finished third after battling an ill-handling race car during the rain delayed GEICO 400 at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday. Starting from the 17th position, the California native ran within the top 20 during the early laps while battling an extremely tight-handling Chevrolet. A lap-30 competition caution provided the Gil Martin-led pit crew the opportunity they needed to work on the handling of the red and white machine by changing four tires,

Paul Menard started the Quaker State/Menards Chevrolet from the 11th position in the 400-mile race at Chicagoland Speedway and finished 22nd after struggling with handling issues in the rain-delayed event. Light rain showers postponed the start of the GEICO 400, but when the green flag flew, Menard quickly gained two positions and was running in ninth at lap eight. Kevin Harvick and the No. 33 Rheem/MenardsChevrolet team battled handling issues during the Dollar General 300 on Saturday afternoon and finished ninth at Chicagoland Speedway. Starting from the 13th position, the two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion maneuvered his way into the top 10 within the first 10 laps of the 200-lap affair, while battling a Chevrolet that was tight in and loose off of the turns.

James Buescher and the Rheem team came into the EnjoyIllinois.com 225 at Chicagoland Speedway as the defending race winner and were looking for their third win of the season. Carrying momentum from last week’s victory at Iowa Speedway, Buescher appeared to be a viable contender in the middle portion of the 150-lap race when he went from eighth position to third in just under 10 laps.
