NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – AdvoCare 500

Paul Menard started the AdvoCare 500 from the 16th position and involvement in an accident in the early laps of the Sunday night event relegated him to a 24th-place result at Atlanta Motor Speedway. After rain showers earlier in the day washed the rubber off the1.5-mile speedway, NASCAR officials mandated a competition caution at lap 25. Menard pitted for four tires, fuel and an air pressure adjustment in an attempt to give the Moen/Menards Chevrolet better drive off of the corners.

NASCAR once again heads north of the border to the great country of Canada. This time however, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series will get their chance at turning both left and right on the road course of Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the inaugural Chevrolet Silverado 250. Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 403 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. This No. 27 Chevrolet SS was run previously this season at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Kansas Speedway and Pocono Raceway. Menard has 11 starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway. His best start of 19th and best finish of fifth both came in 2010. The Wisconsin native has completed 3,527 of 3,602 laps attempted (97.9 percent) at the 1.54-mile Georgia track.

Paul Menard captured his third-consecutive top-10 result in “Thunder Valley,” finishing sixth under the lights at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday evening. Starting 21st, Menard maintained a spot within the top 20 until a lap-91 caution-flag period when the No. 27 Schrock/Menards team elected not to come down pit road, positioning Menard in fifth for the ensuing restart. Another caution on lap 108 positioned Menard in the inside lane for the restart and he slipped back to 19th before blending back in line with the rest of the 43-car field.

NASCAR Truck Series – UNOH 200

Coming off their first win of the 2013 season, James Buescher and the Rheem team looked to continue their momentum in the UNOH 200 at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS) Wednesday night. After posting solid practice times, Buescher was able to follow up with an eighth-place starting position. When the green flag flew on the 200-lap event, Buescher wasted no time in moving up into the top five within a couple of laps.
