After being rained out Saturday evening, the NASCAR Sprint Cup engines fired back to life on Sunday with Kevin Harvick and No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet team rolling off the grid 22nd at Kentucky Speedway. NASCAR mandated a competition caution at lap 30 to allow teams to check tire wear and address handling issues because rain washed rubber off the track following Saturday’s heavy storms.

Reigning UNOH 225 winner James Buescher returned back to Kentucky Speedway, the track where Buescher swept both NASCAR Camping World Truck Series races last season en route to his four wins. Kevin Harvick will pilot chassis No. 425 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable in the Quaker State 400 at Kentucky Speedway on Saturday night. This is the same Chevrolet the California native drove to Victory Lane after the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May. Harvick has two starts to his credit at the 1.5-mile D-shaped oval dating back to 2011.

Paul Menard will pilot chassis No. 414 at Kentucky Speedway this weekend. This No. 27 Chevrolet SS previously ran at Darlington Raceway in May and was tested earlier this month at Kentucky Speedway. Menard has two NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starts at the 1.5-mile oval. His best start of 10th came in 2011 and best finish of 12th came in 2012.

James Buescher, No. 31
Buescher returns to the track where he swept both NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) races last season. These two wins counted as number two and four en route to his the four wins he earned in his NCWTS championship season. Buescher comes into Kentucky fifth in points and looking for his first top-five finish of 2013.
Kentucky Speedway is one of my favorite tracks for obvious reasons.

Making his first road course start in nearly two years, James Buescher and his regular Turner Scott Motorsports NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) crew came into Road America looking to gain experience for the pending road course race that the NCWTS will run later this season. During practice, Buescher looked to get accustomed with the 4.048-mile Road America race track heading into the 50-lap race on Saturday afternoon.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series – Save Mart 350
June 23, 2013 – Sonoma Raceway
Paul Menard started the No. 27 Moen/Menards Chevrolet from the 16th position and battled handling issues throughout the 110-lap event at Sonoma Raceway, earning a 14th – place finish on Sunday. In the early laps of the event, Menard slipped back to the 20th position and relayed to the crew that the No. 27 machine was lacking rear grip. The “Slugger” Labbe-led pit crew made air pressure and track bar adjustments during the initial stop of the race on lap 25 in an attempt to increase rear grip.

Kevin Harvick and the No. 29 Rheem team picked up their sixth-consecutive top-10 finish Sunday afternoon after utilizing pit strategy to collect a 10th-place result at Sonoma Raceway. The California native started the 110-lap event from the 12th position and worked his way into the top 10 by lap 31 when he brought the red and black machine down pit road for fuel,

Kevin Harvick will pilot chassis No. 395 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Sprint Cup Series stable in the Save Mart 350. Most recently, the California native raced this Chevrolet to a 15th-place result at Watkins Glen International in August 2012. Harvick has made 12 starts at the 10-turn road course dating back to the 2001 season.
