Stage 1 Recap (Laps 1-20)
  • Christopher Bell started 20th at Sonoma.
  • On lap four, Bell hit pit road due to a fuel pressure issue. The team was able to identify why he had no fuel pressure and reset the computer on Bell’s Rheem Toyota.
  • He lost one lap due to the stop but was able to get back on the lead lap after the competition caution on lap ten.
  • Bell restarted 35th and raced his way to 21st at the stage break.
Stage 2 Recap (Laps 25-40)
  • To gain track position, crew chief Adam Stevens decided to have the #20 stay out.
  • Bell was able to restart 7th for Stage 2.
  • The Rheem Toyota was loose and Bell was able to have a few adjustments when he pitted under caution with eight laps to go.
  • When the green flag waved, Bell was 20th and cycled up to 10th to end the stage.
Stage 3 Recap (Laps 46-92)
  • The Rheem Machine started Stage 3 in 7th place.
  • With 3 laps remaining, Bell was 9th until he was spun by another car.
  • The 20 crew made repairs and sent back on the track to complete the race.
  • Bell finished 24th in the Toyota/Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.
