Christopher Bell / No. 20 Rheem Toyota Camry Preview Alsco 300 at Kentucky Speedway

Racing in the Bluegrass: Christopher Bell and the No. 20 Rheem team return to the track on Friday night at Kentucky Speedway for the Alsco 300 and their only stop of the 2018 season at the 1.5-mile facility. Despite never taking a lap at Kentucky Speedway in an Xfinity Series Car, Bell is no stranger to success at the Sparta, KY facility, having three starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with one win, two top five and two top-10 finishes to his credit. Bell’s win came last season.

Daytona Recap: The NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) returned to Daytona International Speedway (DIS) for their second and final stop of the 2018 season at the 2.5-mile facility last Friday night. After qualifying was cancelled following heavy rain in the area on Friday afternoon, the field was set by the rule book with Christopher Bell and his GamesStop/PDP Gaming team earning the sixth starting position. After working his way through traffic multiple times during the scheduled 100-lap event, Bell and his GameStop/PDP team crossed the finish line in the third position for Joe Gibbs Racing, their ninth top-five finish in 16 races this season
Points Update: Following Daytona, Bell and his Rheem team currently sit fourth in the points standings, 35 points behind the leader heading into Kentucky. Bell currently leads the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings by 44 points heading into the weekend.

New Paint Scheme: The Rheem Camry will have a new look when it hits the track on Thursday at Kentucky Speedway. The new matte black and red paint scheme will make its first appearance on the No.20 this weekend and is intended to say ‘thanks to NASCAR fans for allowing us to support the sport you love’ as well as promising that ‘Rheem is taking leading and winning to a whole new level.’
Joe Gibbs Racing at Kentucky: JGR has 58 NXS starts at Kentucky and has earned five wins, 25 top-five and 35 top-10 finishes. The championship-winning organization has won nine pole awards with an average start of 8.2 and an average finish of 11.2.

RACE INFO: The Alsco 300 at Kentucky Speedway begins at 8:00 p.m. ET on Friday, July 13, 2018. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, Sirius XM 90, and PRN Radio.

From the Cockpit:
Christopher Bell: “I’m really looking forward to Kentucky Speedway this week and getting back behind the wheel of my new-look Rheem Camry. We have some momentum coming off our top-five finish in Daytona last week, so hopefully we can continue to build off that on Friday night. I’m really happy with where our mile-and-a-half program is. Jason (Ratcliff) and the guys continue to work hard every week to bring fast Camry’s to the track and it really makes it a lot of fun to drive. I enjoy racing at Kentucky, and they have one of the coolest trophies around, so hopefully we can go out, have a solid night and bring back a jukebox to Joe Gibbs Racing!”
