No. 20 Rheem Toyota News and Notes
Coming off their second win of the 2018 season last week in Kentucky, Christopher Bell and the No. 20 Rheem team head to New Hampshire Motor Speedway (NHMS) this weekend for the Lakes Region 200 and their only stop of the 2018 season at the one-mile facility. Despite never taking a lap at the “Magic Mile” in an Xfinity Series Car, Bell is no stranger to success at the Loudon, NH facility, having two starts in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series with one win, two top five and two top-10 finishes, with an average start of 2.5 and an average finish of 1.5.

After officially starting the 200-lap event in 12th, Bell dropped to the rear of the field prior to the start of the race for unapproved adjustments to his Rheem Camry after spinning in the final round of qualifying Friday afternoon. Despite the setback, Bell drove his Rheem Camry from last to first, earning his third-career NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) victory Friday night at Kentucky Speedway.
Following Kentucky, Bell and his Rheem team currently sit fourth in the points standings, 17 points behind the leader heading into this weekend’s race at NHMS. However, by virtue of his two wins, Bell has accumulated 12 playoff points and currently would be the No.1 seed if the playoffs started today.
Bell currently leads the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings by 51 points heading into this weekend’s race at NHMS.
JGR has 42 NXS starts at NHMS and has earned eight wins, 24 top-five and 30 top-10 finishes. The championship-winning organization has won five pole awards with an average start of 9.1 and an average finish of 9.1.
The Lake Region 200 a NHMS begins at 4:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, July 21, 2018. The race will be broadcast live on NBCSN, Sirius XM 90, and PRN Radio.
