“Pocono is one of the most unique tracks on the schedule. It seems like if you have a fast car it is a place you can succeed at.”
Pocono Doubleheader: Christopher Bell will make his first and second NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) starts at Pocono Raceway in the No. 95 Rheem Toyota Camry for Leavine Family Racing as the series heads North for a double header weekend.
Racing in the Pocono’s: Bell has made two prior starts at Pocono in the NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS). In 2019. Bell narrowly missed starting on the pole position and crossed the finish line fifth. In 2018 Bell qualified fifth and finished 36th after contact late in the race sent his Toyota into the wall, ending his day. Prior to the contact Bell had worked his way up to second before a pit road speeding penalty set him back in the field.
Pocono Winner: Bell is no stranger to finding his way to victory lane at Pocono Raceway. In 2017 Bell took home the win in the NASCAR Truck Series at the 2.5-mile tricky triangle.
Talladega Recap: Christopher Bell started 35th based on a random draw, but just five laps into the race had drafted his way inside the top 10. Bell had a fast No. 95 Toyota Camry and consistently ran inside the top 10, even leading for a few laps. While trying to team up with a fellow Toyota driver to draft, Bell accidently pushed the other car below the yellow line, resulting in a penalty and a green flag trip down pit road. Bell went a lap down to the pack and while being back in the field suffered some minor damage in an accident coming to the checkered flag, resulting in a 29th-place finish.
Christopher Bell: “Pocono is one of the most unique tracks on the schedule. It seems like if you have a fast car it is a place you can succeed at. I’ve won there in a Truck so I’m anxious to go and see what we have this weekend.”
