“Kansas is a special place for me, I got my first Xfinity win there and it’s a racetrack you can race all over.”
Kansas Speedway: Christopher Bell will make his first NASCAR Cup Series (NCS) start at Kansas Speedway this weekend in the No. 95 Rheem Toyota Camry for Leavine Family Racing.
No Place Like Kansas: Bell earned his first career NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) victory at Kansas Speedway in 2017. The win came in just his fifth start in the series and makes Kansas a special track for Bell.
Kansas NXS Stats: In addition to earning his first NXS win at Kansas, Bell also one pole, one top-five and one top-10 finish at the 1.5-mile speedway.
Kansas 2019: Bell qualified on the pole and led 69 total laps but contact late in the race from a car that didn’t realize the leaders were racing the highline caused damage to his Toyota. Despite the damage, Bell was able to earn a 12th-place finish.
Texas Recap: Bell started 33rd following a random draw for qualifying based on owner points. Handling was an issue throughout the race and led to Bell making slight contact with the wall. A loose wheel on a green flag pit stop resulted in an additional trip down pit road under green and put Bell two laps down to the field. Bell raced hard and had himself in position to get a lap back but contact from another competitor damaged the right side of the No. 95. Despite the damage, Bell was able to salvage a 21st-place finish at Texas.
Owners Points: Bell’s finish at Texas moved him to 23rd in owner points and now the No. 95 will draw for starting positions 13-24 at Kansas Speedway.
Christopher Bell: “Kansas is a special place for me, I got my first Xfinity win there and it’s a racetrack you can race all over. It should be a good show and I hope to create more memories there.”
