NASCAR XFINITY Series - Zippo 200
August 8, 2015 - Watkins Glen International - Watkins Glen, NY
Paul Menard started Saturday's 82-lap NASCAR XFINITY Series event from the 10th spot and raced within the top five throughout most of the 200.9 miles until a late-race incident relegated the team to a ninth-place finish. Menard was happy with the handling of the No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro, only noting that it was free on exit early in the event. The Eau Claire, Wisconsin native raced in the top three by lap 26 and maintained a position in the top four until an incident on lap 70 sent Menard to the rear of the field. With no caution displayed, Menard raced hard from the 24th position up to 19th when the red-flag was displayed with six laps to go. The Danny Stockman-led team called Menard down pit road one last time on lap 77 for four tires and fuel. Menard restarted 22nd on lap 78 and crossed the finish line ninth, just four laps later. Up next for Menard in the No. 33 Richmond/Menards Chevy is the stand-alone event at Road America in his home state of Wisconsin.
We had a fast Richmond/Menards Chevy today, definitely a top-three car. I think we learned some things for my next race with the No. 33 team at Road America, which is another road course for us. I'm excited to get back in the car and see what we can do. - Paul Menard
