Partnering with Those in the Field
At Rheem, we understand the important role our contractors play in furthering our sustainability initiatives. Through our distribution channels and family of brands under the Rheem Air Distribution (RAD) umbrella we are able to connect with contractors and support them with additional training, access to supplies and refrigerant management.
Working for one of those distributors, Century A/C Supply, for 31 years before joining Rheem has given me the unique experience of seeing the HVAC industry evolve.
Before joining Rheem® I worked for one of its suppliers and, even then, it was obvious that Rheem had made sustainability a foundational value – as foundational as safety. Those values, so ingrained in the culture, inspired me when I made the decision to join Rheem in February of this year.
Planning operations priorities for today and tomorrow
We have so much more data than ever before to understand the impact of factory waste on the environment.
At Rheem® we continuously innovate products with sustainability in mind to reduce negative environmental impacts, energy use and customer utility costs. Our emerging leadership in smart connected products helps us deliver more comfort and convenience to consumers while playing an important role in electric grid stability and decarbonization.
Powered by EcoNet® technology, our smart connected products provide consumers control of their water heater and HVAC system from a smartphone via the EcoNet app. The EcoNet app provides real-time information—from service reminders to leak detection alerts—and allows homeowners to track trends in their energy consumption,
Sustainability is more than a mantra at Rheem. It’s a promise to our employees, our customers, our communities and the planet itself. It’s a commitment to continuous improvement and doing better every day.
We’ve embraced our opportunity and responsibility to make a difference.
Contemplating this year’s Black History Month theme, “African Americans and the Arts,” I know my career and personal life directly reflect the influence music, poetry, film, art and storytelling has had on my life. Langston Hughes, Toni Morrison, Paul Robeson, Leontyne Price, Lena Horne, Sidney Portier, August Wilson, Nikki Giovanni and Lorraine Hansberry are a few of the greats whose artistry led me to journalism as a profession and creative writing as a passion.
