2024 Heat Pump Water Heater Week Recap

This year’s Heat Pump Water Heater Week was one for the books! Here at Rheem^®, this special week is a tradition that started from Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH) Day hosted by the Advanced Water Heating Initiative (AWHI). HPWH Day has taken place every October since 2022 and is dedicated to energy efficiency education and awareness. From attending the annual HPWH Day program to watching our plumber live stream training, HPWH advocates from around the country enjoyed learning about the importance and benefits of this game-changing technology.

Heat Pump Water Heater Week Special Events

AWHI HPWH Day – The annual HPWH Day event brings together manufacturers, energy organizations, advocates, installers and more to highlight ENERGY STAR^® certified HPWHs and ways they help create a better future. This year, Kevin Clark, our Regional Sales Manager (RSM), spoke about Rheem’s ENERGY STAR certified 120V ProTerra^® Plug-In. As more regions implement decarbonization regulations, Rheem helps comfortably transition households to HPWHs and take advantage of water heating efficiency rebates. Clark’s presentation checked in on fuel-switching policies, Rheem’s sustainability progress and products that support builders. The AWHI shared hot water solution resources from the event like energy demand management best practices, field studies and more.

HPWH Day Plumber Live Stream Training – Our team also traveled to the West Coast, bringing plumbing professionals a special edition live stream experience. On HPWH Day, we streamed our heat pump water heater training from Fast Water Heater in Los Angeles, California. Led by our Plumber Support Manager (PSM) Robert Haworth, plumbers from all over the country learned about the Rheem ProTerra with new features like the top connections and duct-ready design.

In-Office Celebration – Last but not least, the HPWH Week spirit was strong in the office! Employees interacted with a “We Want to Heat Pump You Up!” poster featuring ProTerra units and hole cutouts for faces. They enjoyed getting to be HPWHs for a day!
