There’s a lot to say about our new Rheem® Ultra Low NOx (ULN) models. Plumbers will find them even easier to install and service than before, getting their customers’ hot water working faster. They also offer them an even safer unit with a new burner safety system to protect their home.
Simpler to Install Means Customers Are Happy
Getting a unit up and running quickly is the most important thing to your customers.
There’s nothing more frustrating than having to explain something about an install or troubleshooting a job over the phone when it’s best, and most quickly, explained in person. Enter Help Lighting™!
Beam in Rheem® Tech Services while you’re working on a water heater with our new merged reality virtual environment. Sounds sci-fi, and it kind of is, but it’s simple to use.
Right now, our Commercial Tech Services Team has access to this feature and may use it to help you on your next call.
We know how it is. You are busy. You don’t have time to watch an hour-long video to answer one little question. You know what you’re doing and don’t need all the other information that you already know.
That is where our new YouTube channel comes in. Now, we’re not creating 15-second videos because that isn’t enough time to explain something fully. However, we try to keep our videos as short as possible and focused.
When a customer is waiting on you to get their hot water working again, you want to have the tools to quickly assess the situation and fix their water heater. You want to have a speedy way to figure out what’s wrong and save the day as they sit and anxiously await the return of their hot water so they can get on with their day. We know that every minute counts!
Troubleshooting with Speed
We have a Fix It feature in our contractor app that helps plumbers troubleshoot a unit with the same fast diagnostic process that our Technical Service Analysts use.
I grew up on the Virginia/North Carolina border. As a teenager and young adult, I frequently took advantage of surfing the waves of our local beaches in both Virginia and NE North Carolina aka “The Outer Banks.”
Now, I am the Rheem® Plumber Support Manager for North Carolina and South Carolina.
Q: Why did you get into plumbing?
A: I decided early on in high school that college was not the route I wanted to pursue.
When you’re out on a job and need to quickly get some how-to help to diagnose or fix a problem, the last thing you want is to have to spend a lot of time searching for useful tips. So, we have created a YouTube channel dedicated to helping our partners out in the field better serve their customers – the new Rheem® Water Heater Training YouTube channel.
This channel will provide plumbers with quickly accessible,
I grew up in Northern Kentucky and when you think of Kentucky, what is the first thing you think of? Horses! Yes, my family raised and showed quarter horses. I was riding horses before I could even walk. Growing up on a horse farm, we didn’t call in tradesmen; we just learned to do the work ourselves – electrical, mechanical, carpentry, plumbing, machinery, all of it!
As a young adult, I joined the U.S.

There are some ways to get more hot water out of an existing water heater without upgrading its size. You can raise the temperature up from the factory setting of 120° to 140° and then add a mixing valve that mixes the overheated water with cold water to make that stored hot water go further. There are some downsides to that option though so I’d recommend a water heater booster in many cases for long-term cost savings and reliability.

If you have a standard electric or gas tank, there are a number of things we can do to increase the amount of deliverable hot water from the simple to the complex. One of the ways to do that would be to simply increase the set-point of the thermostat so that the water stored in the tank would be hotter and would therefore go farther.
Dear Rheem® Plumber,
Our thoughts are with you and your team members who have been impacted by the extreme weather conditions in Texas. We understand the difficult circumstances this has created and share concern for the safety and comfort of all affected.
We know you are working tirelessly to restore the water supply to Texans in need. While you are working the front lines, Rheem is working in parallel with our suppliers to expedite both tankless water heaters as well as replacement parts to the Texas market.
