With Energy Efficiency Day now here, we wanted to reflect on what it means to us to be energy efficient. Energy Efficiency Day falls on the first Wednesday of October every year. It aims to spread awareness about the benefits of energy efficiency, from lower costs to healthier homes and environmental conservation. Here at Rheem®, we’re passionate about making sure you have the resources to meet your hot water needs and reduce your energy use and cost.

We offer a selection of heat pump, electric and condensing gas water heaters that help meet efficiency standards without compromising comfort. We understand that our products impact the environment and we’re taking bold steps to minimize that impact. At the same time, we want to help you achieve cost and energy savings from being as energy efficient as possible. Here are our three most recent Sustainability Standout product launches over the past few months.
The Rheem Professional Prestige® Smart Electric Water Heater with LeakGuard™ and Demand Response is our brand-new advanced electric solution designed to comply with new energy regulations. With this demand response ready water heater, homeowners can avoid peak energy rates while still maximizing their hot water experience. Energy usage is optimized, which benefits both homeowners and utility companies.
Our tankless gas unit, the Rheem IKONIC™ SR-Series Condensing Tankless Water Heater with Recirculation, only produces hot water when you need it so it saves energy when you’re not using it. Along with up to 36% reduction in energy use compared to a standard residential 50-gallon gas tank, the built-in recirculation pump saves water from being wasted down the drain.
Last but not least, the 120-Volt Rheem ProTerra® Plug-in Heat Pump Water Heater is one of our most efficient and advanced solutions. The ProTerra Plug-in has up to five times the efficiency of a standard gas water heater and the fastest heat pump recovery on the market. The Rheem ProTerra Plug-in Water Heater with Hydroboost has much of the benefits of the regular ProTerra Plug-in and is also demand response ready, easily connecting to utility programs for additional energy cost savings.
