Rheem Celebrates a Significant Month with the Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Program

Showing the Way to a Clean Energy Future

In honor of Earth Day, Rheem® is delighted to declare its fourth consecutive win as ENERGY STAR® Partner of the Year in Sustained Excellence. Rheem is leading the way to a clean energy future, not just on Earth Day, but every single day.

What This Means for Homeowners

Cutting down on those hefty energy bills can be a real relief. Opting for the highly efficient Rheem ProTerra® heat pump water heater is a savvy move for hassle-free hot water and significant long-term energy savings. This technology is, of course, ENERGY STAR certified and delivers up to five times the efficiency of conventional water heaters.1

Transitioning to heat pump technology is a breeze. The ProTerra Plug-in model requires minimal side clearance, while the ProTerra Plug-in with HydroBoost and ProTerra Hybrid models require zero clearance—making them ideal replacements even in cramped spaces like closets. According to Nathaniel Jutras, ENERGY STAR Product Manager, “It’s crucial that we find ways to help consumers afford efficient water heating, and this technology offers reliable hot water at a fraction of the cost of traditional electric-resistance products.”

Unwind with Thousands in Energy Savings and Incentives

Take advantage of special government tax credits and rebates available under the Inflation Reduction Act to make efficiency improvements more affordable. With the largest incentives ever, you can enjoy substantial savings beyond the energy savings heat pumps offer.

Through 2032, a federal income tax credit is available to homeowners that covers 30% of the cost, up to $3,200 per year, to encourage energy-efficient home upgrades. For heat pump, you can receive up to $2,000, and it can be combined with credits up to $1,200 for other qualified upgrades. Utilities in most parts of the country have rebates and discounts available now for heat pump HVAC and heat pump water heaters. And coming soon in 2024, many states will launch rebates of their own that can be stacked on top of utility rebates and federal income tax credits. The Rheem rebate center is a great resource.
